    I saw a photo in the October 2020 issue of Model Railroader of Tom Maule’s “dead rail” HO gauge Shay locomotive. I have been considering getting back into HO after a long absence and have wondered about “dead rail”. What I’m not sure about, is if that system can be used for switching operations, or is it strictly an operation of a locomotive using the “dead rail” system. Any info appreciated. Thanks.
